Goodbyes are so hard

A Dog's Plea
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can't be won.
You will be sad- I understand
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
For this day, more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We've had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears
You'd not want me to suffer, so
When the time comes, please let me go.
I know in time you too will see
It is a kindness you do to me
Although my tail, it's last has waved
From pain and suffering I've been saved.
Don't grieve that it should be you
Who has decided this thing to do
We've been so close, we two these years
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Happy Thanksgiving....Lake Style

Thanksgiving was wonderful. We spent the entire time in Canada at my mom's lake house. Real tough, huh??

Great weekend:)

Mom surprised us on Thursday and came for a visit. Isabella was beyond excited:) Not for Mom...for her 4 dogs. I think they would have preferred to stay home alone rather than deal with her petting and picking them up. On Saturday, we met my brother and sister-in-law in Harrisburg...we went out to eat at the Hershey Pantry, went shopping at Costco and the Hershey Outlets, did the Chocolate Factory for the umpteeth time, and went to my sister-in-law's nephew's birthday party and a huge jump house place. Both kids ate up the attention they got from their aunt and uncle....Blake pissed Bella off one time by pushing her down the slide...she still hasn't forgiven him. She told us that she wants to see Aunt Alison again but not Uncle Blake. She even drew Alison a picture of her, Isabella, and a bunny. We asked her what the bunny was for and she told us it was Uncle Blake...she turned him into a white bunny with pink ears because he made her mad. Lt. Colonel White Bunny.

Elisabeth Update

Elisabeth just had her 164 month check up:) She is 5'7" and weighs 134 pounds. Impressive, huh? She is just under an inch away from me....not sure how much control I'm going to have when she towers over me:)

We had her parent/teacher conferences a week ago. Need I tell you how brilliant she is?? Every single teacher (there were 5) had only glowing reviews about her, her attitude, and her school work. She has 3 A's and 3 A+'s.

She is an awesome big sister, a great friend, and a very loving daughter.

I am not sure how we got so lucky.

It's ALMOST Christmas...

and I can't FRICKIN' wait. I know I have 41 one more days but if Macy's can celebrate it this early, so can I. It is my favorite time of year...besides all the happiness of buying and opening gifts, Todd and I will be celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve. The only sad part will be not having my sister and brothers there. They decided to spend it in Colorado (2 of them live there) along with my dad. It will be the first time in my life I won't be with them. Sad. At least we will be with Mom and be making new memories and traditions. We are going to Canada for the whole time and spending it back at the lake. When we were younger, and my grandparents could handle the confusion, we would load all 7 of us in the van and spend it there. It will be different with the dogs outweighing the people (3 adults, 2 kids, and 7 dogs) but nonetheless special:)

All done traveling...

Last week, we went to Philly with Todd on a business trip and this past weekend we spent Saturday and Sunday in Harrisburg. We had the opportunity to make a nice little amount of money renting our house out for a football weekend and we jumped on it. Of course, if you go to Harrisburg, you have to go to Hershey Chocolate Factory. Why is it that you never get sick of that stupid ride through the 'factory'?? It hasn't changed in 30 years!
