Visit from Nanny

Elisabeth had a great birthday:) Every uncle and every aunt remembered her this year with calls AND presents. Even Aaron?!?!?! What's up with that???? Aunt Rebekah sent her all of her snowboarding equipment that she no longer uses...saving us 100's of dollars. She also sent the girls backpacks from the Winter Olympics. Very cute:) Uncle Blake and Aunt Alison sent her headphones for her iPod, Uncle Aaron sent her a gift card from Amazon that she used to buy new snowboarding goggles with, Uncle Shane and Aunt Jennifer sent her an Aeropastele gift card, and Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kristin sent her a new water bottle/towel/beach bag from Pottery Barn Teens. Both sets of grandparents sent her money to put towards snowboarding. She is one lucky girl!

Bella has been a real pisser lately. She is NOT listening AT ALL. I say, "Don't walk in the mud puddle!" and through the mud puddle she goes. Nanny tells her, "Don't get in the dogs faces!" and then she is shocked when they try to nip her face off. She could stay in 'time out' all day and never learn a thing. The dogs are going to be extremely happy to get away from her tomorrow when they go home. I just might hide her in the back of Mom's car.

Happy Birthday to my FAVORITE TEENAGER!!!

Elisabeth Michaela turns 13 years old today at 11:23 AM:) She was my first attempt at motherhood and taught me many lessons over the past years we have been together. Frankly, I am surprised I kept her alive this long. From the time she wandered out of our apartment, across the parking lot, and to the garbage cans BY HERSELF to the time she left the Carter's Outlet store and wandered around outside until we realized she was missing and went screaming after her. I thought I was going to have my hands full when, upon visiting my new principal's house for the first time, she loudly yelled at her, 'YOU ARE NOT MY BOSS!!!!' at the ripe old age of 3. Her very first word was 'shit'.

Elisabeth, you are the light of our lives. You have brought more joy and happiness to your dad and I than we could have ever imagined. You are smart, bright, sensitive, caring, kind, thoughtful, a great friend, a sweet sister, and a wonderful daughter. You are adored by everyone.

Happy Birthday, Sweetheart!!!

Future snowboarder...

Isabella decided to try out Elisabeth's snowboard after she was done. She took off down the little hill screaming "ROCKSTAR!" while trying to jump at the same time. Elisabeth is NOT happy to be sharing her new sport:)

JACKPOT!!!

We have FINALLY found something ELISABETH loves.....SNOWBOARDING!!!!!!!! After tries at horseback riding, ballet, tap dance, swimming, soccer, ice skating, piano lessons, and tennis, she is actually happy and wanting to try snowboarding again!! She went to Tussey Mountain today with her best friend and had a lesson. She did remarkably well for the first day:) My almost-13 year old actually smiled for most of the day!!! Life is good:)
