Oh, the tantrums.
My mother-in-law commented on Isabella's impeccable behavior this past weekend. She thought she would see her hitting and biting and throwing temper tantrums. She left 2 days too soon. The first one occurred at a outdoor party this afternoon at 4. She spilled orange soda down her dress and proceeded to slug me because she was sticky. The second one was on the way home from the party when, for no apparent reason, she screamed for 29.5 minutes and no amount of coaxing, joking, threatening, coddling, or ignoring would stop her. A change of scenery worked-for about 5 minutes. She decided that Part III of Isabella and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Afternoon was in order. She started screaming again and when the blatant ignoring on my part was not working for her, she stepped out from behind my chair and hit me 3 times and the last one hurt. I won't tell you what I did as I climbed the stairs but it caused me to be quite winded by the time her little butt hit her bed.
I think she was saving up this sweet behavior just for my eyes. Lucky me:)

ooh boy...I seriously do think this is what WE get to look forward to as well...the difference is OUR child thus far has decided to mainly show her 'good' side in front of others to make a point...esPECIALLY both sides of the grandparents. Isn't that nice? NOT.
ReplyDeleteBreathe. Slow, steady breaths. (That's what my husband tells me to do when I'm about to beat a child to death. :)
