As you can see from the video, Allie could NOT walk with her cast on. Her back legs are naturally bent and the cast stretched her leg straight. She kept getting it caught under her other back leg and would end up just spinning in a circle. She was truly a mess. We had the option to splint, cast, or have a pin placed last night...I went for the cast because it worked for Blake when he broke his leg TWICE. After seeing how horrible she was this morning, I knew I couldn't put her through a month of dragging that heavy, hard cast. I dropped her off at the vet around 9:30 am and she was done by noon. We went tonight to visit her.....she was slightly stoned and Elisabeth was slightly upset. She actually cried when we had to leave her:( She did request the following:
1. A hospital bed instead of crate
2. A pole to hold her IV drip
3. A call button
4. A pillow to prop her leg on
Eventhough we go to THE most expensive vet in town, I don't think they are going to meet her demands:) They did call tonight, however, and Allie is sound asleep and not in any pain. They voted her the MOST adorable puppy. We get to pick her up at 2:30 tomorrow if they don't close for the ice storm we are getting. I hate to tell them but one of the doctor's will be braving the weather to meet us because we aren't leaving her there for one more night.
