A Perfect Birthday Gift

A very sweet friend, who I met through adoption, sent Isabella and me a birthday gift. She said it was a 'little' something. She lied:)

It is an American/Vietnamese quilt. There are 4 squares which are connected together - 2 are the same Vietnamese fabric and the opposite 2 are same American fabric. There are 40 groups altogether which represent different aspects of life both in Vietnam and in the US. On top the this beautifully, hand crafted quilt-Kelly made me a scrapbook to go along with it so I would understand the fabric and why it was chosen and the story behind it. Amazing. I am so touched that someone would take the time to put all of this together. What makes it even more special is that Kelly's daughter, who was also adopted from Lang Son, has the exact same one:) Now I just have to decide where I am going to hang it so I can look at it everyday!!

Thanks, Kel:) It really means the world to me.
