Poor Puppy Update

As you can see from the video, Allie could NOT walk with her cast on. Her back legs are naturally bent and the cast stretched her leg straight. She kept getting it caught under her other back leg and would end up just spinning in a circle. She was truly a mess. We had the option to splint, cast, or have a pin placed last night...I went for the cast because it worked for Blake when he broke his leg TWICE. After seeing how horrible she was this morning, I knew I couldn't put her through a month of dragging that heavy, hard cast. I dropped her off at the vet around 9:30 am and she was done by noon. We went tonight to visit her.....she was slightly stoned and Elisabeth was slightly upset. She actually cried when we had to leave her:( She did request the following:
1. A hospital bed instead of crate
2. A pole to hold her IV drip
3. A call button
4. A pillow to prop her leg on
Eventhough we go to THE most expensive vet in town, I don't think they are going to meet her demands:) They did call tonight, however, and Allie is sound asleep and not in any pain. They voted her the MOST adorable puppy. We get to pick her up at 2:30 tomorrow if they don't close for the ice storm we are getting. I hate to tell them but one of the doctor's will be braving the weather to meet us because we aren't leaving her there for one more night.

Why did we have to drop everything and run to the vet???

Allie fell off our bed and broke her leg:( The only one around to see this...Isabella. She assures me she 'tried' to stop her from falling but she was 'too late'. It was bound to happen....the dog is happiest when she is flying through the air. I feel horrible for her...her cast is so huge she falls backwards. She is still doped up from the sleepy medicine and can't even go to the bathroom on her own-hence the large wet spot on Todd's leg. I think Elisabeth felt what it was like to be a mom today...she was so upset at the vets:( We go back in 2 weeks to see how it is healing...we may have to go back sooner if this cast doesn't work.

Roller Skating and Puppy Play Group

We took the kids to the roller skating rink yesterday. Elisabeth didn't want to go without a friend but had to settle skating with her 4 year old sister. You couldn't really call what Isabella does on skates as actual skating...it is more of a walk/hopping kind of movement.

Allie tried out a puppy play group at Petco last night. At first she was timid and scared and then she let loose and had to be pulled off of the other puppies about 50 times. Todd tried hard to be a protective father but she wanted nothing to do with him. I don't think she will ever have difficulty holding her own:)

Which 3 DON'T belong in OUR bed????

Allie Update

Doesn't she look like Sally Field from "The Flying Nun"??

As you can see, the dog has truly become a part of the family. She is absolutely loved by all...including Blake:) I can't say the furniture adores her, though. So far, she has chewed the knobs off of the bottom of 2 dressers, made huge holes on the side of a wooden bench, and put baby teeth marks on the bottom shelf of our NEW coffee table. She has also learned how to come down the stairs by herself. You know when she heads up there, she is going to go to Isabella's room to poop in the corner, and then thump her way back down. And what is even cuter is that she actually makes a noise when she farts....kind of a warning to CLEAR THE ROOM:)

We can't imagine life without her....

Going underground

Last night, Isabella was SO over-tired that we couldn't do a thing with her. She was in complete brat mode. At one point she mentioned that she didn't like any of us and that she was moving underground and she was taking all of her bedroom furniture with her.

This morning, after a good night's rest, she announced that she was NOT moving underground because she would get dirt in her eyes:)

Mini me

Last night at dinner, Elisabeth told me that Isabella got in trouble at preschool. She knew because Isabella spilled the beans to her. When I asked her what happened, she looked at me and then my dinner and said, "EAT!"

Yeah...that works for me but not for you, sweetie. I threatened to call her teacher and she started talking.

Blaming the body parts....

Whenever Isabella doesn't want to do something, she blames a body part.

Me: Isabella, please get up and get dressed.
Her: My head told me it wants to stay on the pillow

Me: Please put your pants on.
Her: My legs told me they want to stay in my pajamas.

Me: Put your coat on.
Her: My arms told me they don't want to.

Me: Go up to bed with Daddy.
Her: My legs don't like going with Daddy. They want to stay here with you.

Where does she get her imagination?

For Sale

One very adorable, lovable, kissable baby French Bulldog who
•poops everywhere but outside
•after pooping, will then walk in it and trail it all over the house
•pees while you are looking at her
•eats red crayons
•refuses to go outside
•loves terrorizing small children by sinking her teeth into any moving clothing
•enjoys hanging off the beard of brother dog
•climbs the stairs hourly but can't get back down
•barks non-stop until someone climbs the stairs to carry her back down
•chews on all the nobs of the expensive bedroom furniture
•is obsessed with the hair on barbies and My Little Ponies and will dodge under beds with them so you can't get her
•farts while walking, running, sitting, or sleeping soundly
•can clear an entire room after her farts settle
•will eat her food in 30 seconds flat and then go for Blake's food and swallow the the pieces whole

I change my mind. We will keep her:)

Pies and Puppies

My sister-in-law bought us a Babycakes Cupcake maker....it can make mini-pies as well as muffins and cupcakes. Yum!

As for Allie, she is wonderful. Still doesn't have CLUE that you poop outside, not under the table and pee outside, not on the kitchen rug. Maybe if she actually LIKED going outside it would help. I fear she hates the cold. And I hear Frenchies hate the heat. I guess she won't be coming out the house much! We took a trip to the vet today. She, of course, wore her kilt and sweater and was a huge hit. Although she lost a little bit of weight, she is healthy and worm-free. Isn't that what every mother wants to hear about their child's poop??
